A large global business unit within an oil super major was challenged to reduce the costs of its back-office functions, principally Finance. The engagement conducted a rigorous evaluation of the Finance operating model, seeking every opportunity to migrate activity from high-cost HQ locations to lower-cost nearshore centres, and where possible to leverage capability in the existing far-shore captive centres. A £9m annual saving was delivered.
